What does your job entail?
Preparing accounts drafting financial statements, business and personal tax planning. Managing and administering the practice, supervising and teaching staff, maintaining regular communication with clients to discuss problems and helping them solve them, reporting and measuring business performance, training employees and mentoring clients. Marketing the practice.
What route did you take?
I started my career in industry then moved to practice where I worked as an apprentice, I then qualified with IFA (Institute of Financial Accountants) using credited prior learning.
Why did you choose Accountancy Services?
I have always had aspirations to become an entrepreneur. Your could say self employment is in my blood, my Parents and Grandparents have all run successful businesses. After gaining many years experience working for other practices In 1992 I plucked up the courage to set out on my own. I felt that clients wanted more from their accountant. I wanted to Create a cutting edge, pro-active practice with an approachable caring attitude where clients needs come first.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Business management and advising. The most rewarding aspect is seeing my clients and employees achieve their goals and aspirations.
What are your goals and ambitions for the future?
To expand our client base so we can help more people succeed in business.

What does your job entail?
My job entails accounts preparation, all aspects of personal tax and business tax, capital gains, a special interest in the construction industry and training clients and staff.
Why did you choose Active Accountancy Services?
After finishing college I needed Practice experience which Geoff kindly offered to take a risk on. Which he has never regretted since!!!!!
What route did you take?
I previously had various roles in Finance and Book-keeping which inspired me to enrol on a fast track college course In AAT.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Taxation and Teaching.
What are your goals and ambitions for the future?
This year to continue my studies with ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians)

What does your job entail?
My job entails managing the clients Payroll and maintaining client records using manual and computerised Book-keeping software, filing VAT returns via the internet and practice administration.
Why did you choose Active Accountancy Services?
I was looking for a place to further my training and broaden my Book-keeping knowledge and skills.
What route did you take?
I was previously a secretary at Stephens & Scown solicitors and completed a foundation diploma in finance Pitman training.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy calculating the payroll, it provides me with the regular day to day communication with clients.
What are your goals and ambitions for the future?
I am currently in my final year studying for my Technician level 4 AAT qualification.
